Goal: Support our neighborhood’s public schools
Objectives:
-
Seek and publicize meaningful ways that residents
who do not have children attending Joaquin Miller, Montera or Skyline
can help support stronger public schools.
-
Increase awareness of the quality educational opportunities
available at our public schools to stem the tide of parents opting
for private schools for their children.
-
Reduce vandalism caused by teenagers during school
vacations.
Background:
Residents have raised questions about this goal: What
role can a neighborhood association play in improving schools? Aren’t
parent/teacher associations and school administrators already doing
this?
Because the entire community reaps the benefit of top rated schools--or
suffers the devastation of poor school performance--then the responsibility
to improve our schools rests with each one of us.
How can families with no public school children help? See tips
below to see how every household can support stronger public schools.
